Following up on our chat with artist Gabriel Hardman from earlier we have a look at his work in today’s Artist August art feature. Now, the sad thing is I don’t have any shots from his brilliant interiors here, but if you check out his site, he makes regular posts of his commissions and more. What you find below is a selection of his work, and I love checking out what he does with black and white as he excels at bringing mood to pieces with his inks.

Check it out, and please, by all means check out his comic at Monkeybrain “Kinski” and any of the other excellent books he’s worked on recently.

Spider-Man, Kitty Pryde and the Rhino
The Rocketeer
Doctor Doom
Yoda
Han Solo
Batman Strikes

I went with a pick that I felt was an important artist in the history of comics, and was excited to spotlight their work. However, when I started collecting pieces, I felt nothing. The work, while incredible, didn’t resonate with me […]

Artist August: Liz Prince [Art Feature]

    By | Aug 29, 2014 | Columns

Liz Prince’s comics are exactly the type of comics I want to see more of in the world. Her work lies somewhere between the self-reflection of Jeffery Brown and the raucous energy of James Kochalka, examining herself and her surroundings through the lens of a humorist. Her comics are easily digestible while simultaneously impactful and thought provoking, […]
