Today in Artist August, we spotlighted Spanish artist Juan José Ryp. Over the past decade, he’s gone from Jungle Fantasy covers to being the regular artist on Wolverine: The Best There Is. Along the way, though, he’s worked on stories from the likes of Alan Moore and Warren Ellis, and upped the stakes for detailed carnage in a comics world that’s maybe grown a bit too complacent without Geof Darrow around.

Mr. Ryp himself chose some recent art for us to showcase after the jump, but if you want to see more, including samples of his Spanish-market work and gorgeous process posts, check out his blog!

Patrick Tobin

Patrick Tobin (American) is likely shaming his journalism professors from the University of Glasgow by writing about comic books. Luckily, he's also written about film for The Drouth and The Directory of World Cinema: Great Britain. He can be reached via e-mail right here.
