Welcome to Boomb Tube! Here we talk about all of your favorite comic book related cartoons! This week: the return of Ultimate Spider-Man.

On the latest episode of Green Lantern, Sinestro finally showed up! After stealing a prisoner from one of the numerous spider-prisons hanging around this show’s galaxy, Sinestro, who (praise every deity ever) is voiced by Ron Perlman, arrives on The Interceptor to bring said prisoner back to Oa. Hal and Kilowogg are a little let-down by their number one bro Green Lantern who’s still definitely a good guy even though his name is Sinestro being pretty serious, but they take him anyway. Unfortunately, the prisoner turns out to be a mind-controlling parasite that latches onto the nearest living being and takes over. The parasite wreaks havoc on the ship until Sinestro turns off The Interceptor’s oxygen supplies. Everyone not under control of the parasite can use their ring to make a mini-atmosphere or is a robot, so when Razer finally saves himself after the parasite leaves his body, the consciousness returns to the original parasite body. Too bad for it, Sinestro walks up to the parasite and stone-cold stares it down while it suffocates to death. Hal Jordan says something about the code before realizing that it wouldn’t stand up to the magnificence that is Ron Perlman Sinestro and backs away while everyone eagerly awaits for Sinestro to turn into a full baddy. Also Razer and IA almost kissed or something. But mostly Ron Perlman Sinestro.
Review Score 8.8/10 — With Sinestro and the Anti-Monitor, Green Lantern’s becoming very exciting.

This week on Young Justice: Robin, Blue Beetle, Impulse, and one of this show’s plethora of Roy Harper’s investigate a The Reach farm out by Smallville. Apparently, The Reach are genetically engineering vegetables with some mysterious Mcguffin that The Team take a sample of, but not before that one Roy causes a ruckrus and everyone gets attacked by Black Beetle. One thing I do like: they’ve managed to differentiate this former side-kick, who was presumed dead for years but has come back, with a prosthetic arm; which means he’s either Arsenal or Winter Soldier. Everyone is about to be murdered by BB when, all of a sudden, yet another beetle shows up and beats up Black Beetle. This time, it’s original character GREEN Beetle who is a Martian and has full control over his scarab due to the Martian’s natural immunity towards being taken over by The Reach. Convenient. The Green Beetle explains his situation to Jamie and offers to train Jamie in controlling the Scarab so he doesn’t destroy the future and everything. Meanwhile, at The Light, Sportsmaster is really mad because Aqualad killed his daughter and hid his golfclubs somewhere or something. Vandal Savage makes an off-hand reference to Scandal Savage and, before Sportsmaster can take revenge on Aqualad who’s been comatose since last week’s episode with Miss Martian’s mind power shenanigans, replaces him with Deathstroke who is wearing a ponytail because screw it. Black Manta and Vandal try to help fix Aqualad by bring in Psimon who’s going to peer into Aqualad’s double-crossing-plan-filled mind. Surely nothing will go wrong in next week’s episode and Tumblr won’t work itself up into a frenzy.
Review Score: 8/10 — Another entertaining episode. The fallout of Psimon scanning Aqualad will definitely be great, but I still can’t buy Green Beetle coming in out of nowhere.

Not only did Ultimate Spider-Man come back this past Monday, but it came back with two episodes. This explains why your cattle has produced only sour milk.
In the first episode, Spider-Man is tracking down Doctor Octopus (who in this show is voiced by Tom Kenny and sounds like SpongeBob whispering through a gimp suit), but Doc Ock gets away while leaving behind some mutagens based on animals and Doctor Connors takes the lizard one to regrow his arm and… look you know what’s going to happen right? What happens in every Lizard story that isn’t Shed; except in this one he isn’t saved with an appeal to his humanity but just being injected with a lot of antidote by Spidey with the help of Fetish SpongeBob.
Review Score: 3/10 — You have seen this already, probably with better writing and definitely with less Drake Bell.
Finally, Spider-Man is fighting with Electro because why not when he accidently uses his special SHIELD webshooters to dissipate Electro into seemingly nothing. Nonplussed, he walks back home to only discover that Electro has been absorbed into New York City’s power ground and as a result controls ALL OF THE ELECTRICITY! Television? Done. Nova’s PSP? Well I mean that runs on battery but yeah sure. Cars? I think those run on gas but yeah the hell with it. Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends’ amazing plan is to hook Electro up to the new Daily Bugle’s global network and spread him all over the world, thus splitting him up and dividing his attention. As dumb as that sounds, giving Electro control over the world’s satellites and power systems defeats him and everyone goes home happy, except for the families of all the patients who died when their life support shut off during Electro’s blackout. As bleak as I’m being, this episode has two great moments which definitely give it bonus points. First, once the power goes back on it turns out J. Jonah Jameson has been screaming into a turned off camera about Spider-Man for the entire time which is perfect. Second, Batroc the Freaking Leaper shows up to loot the city for no other reason than to give Spider-Man’s friends something physical to punch. His accent and style were much-needed additions to this show.
Review Score: 6/10 — Still a pretty painful show but hey, Batroc the Leaper.
