Superheroes, cowboys and chicks with guns. What do they all have in common? They all look fantastic and are on this list. It’s a range of cover styles and it also brings us some new titles and artists. We also get some returners.
Also, to make this column a little more interesting I’ve decided to see who’s giving us the best work week in and week out. So starting this week I plan to give a list of the top three artists. The artists position on the list will be decided by how many times each has entered onto the list. So it’ll be interesting to see how this list changes each week.
I know…I know… another week another Deadpool variant on the list. It’s just so damn funny though.
I absolutely love the way this cover gives us Sand and his ability all in one image. Not only does it do that brilliantly but it also gives us an idea of what is going on in the interior of this issue. Add to those facts that this is otherwise a great looking cover and you have a sure fire hit on your hands. I really have loved Freddie Williams II’s covers for this series.
This cover has a great mix of sex and mischief. It just has danger written all over it and Hex is just sitting there. This is a title I have never purchased but because of this cover I think I am going to go back and check this issue out. This sort of thing is exactly what you want when putting together a cover. Something that MAKES you look inside. Well if I had seen this on the shelf I would have.
This is another title I have never picked up. Hell I’ve never even heard of it let alone thought about picking it up. Like Jonah Hex though I’m rethinking that. If the smooth art and brilliant colors flow from the cover to the interior I am onboard. First, I need to find out what it’s about. Anyone read it? Is it as good as the cover?
Well there you have this weeks list.
