This shit is weird. That is all.
I mostly enjoy this cover because it stands out on the shelves. The predominantly white cover enveloping the Dark Avenger is aesthetically pleasing. When looking across the shelves at your LCS you are bound to take notice of this cover. Taking notice of a book is exactly the point of a cover. Job well done Mr. Deodato and Marvel.
I don’t pick up this comic and have no interest in doing so. The covers though are excellent. I really enjoy Jock’s work and this cover is a great piece from him. I’m really looking forward to his stint on Detective Comics. While it may be hard to top J.H. Williams III I think the artistic talents of Jock should provide a good run.
Hardcore! That cover is fucking intense! I dig it for the simple fact that it’s badass. A gorilla attacking a dude with a big ass knife is just fantastic. So yeah…
This cover is as my wife said, “Art that I would hang on the wall”. Good call wife. It is without a doubt a piece of art first and a comic book cover second. It’s very appealing and very sophisticated. This is a title that consistently has some of the best covers out there.
While not as artistic as Ex Machina’s cover I find myself loving the hell out it. The imagery from Cassday is a wonderful way to announce that Steve Rogers is back. With Steve holding the American flag over his head standing vulnerable you just get the feeling that there should be a word bubble that says, “I’m Cap and I’m back bitches!”. Or maybe that’s just me. Either way this is my favorite cover of the week. Welcome back Steve whether you needed to come back or not.
