Burpee’s Got You Covered!

While the books were really good this week I found the covers to be less appealing. Though I was able to easily choose three covers that I felt stood up the rest this week. Some old favorites grace this list as some of the industries elite dominate this list.

Who do we have? Check it out after the jump…

1. Batman and Robin #13

by Frank Quietly

I love this cover. It has so much going for it both big and small. The intricacies are where this cover really shines. From the Joker colored dominance of the cover to the HAHAHA background it’s a top to bottom visual delight. Throw in a Robin about to lay the crowbar smackdown on the Joker and you have one ridiculously brilliant cover.

2. X-Men #1
by Adi Granov

This is just a great cover filled with awesome characters. That would be a freaking awesome team wouldn’t it? It’s got everything but a speedster. The sweet team dynamics aside I feel this cover further shows why Granov is the go to guy if you are looking for an iconic shot of a Marvel character. He’s proven it over and over again with Iron Man and shows his considerable skills yet again here.

3. Scarlet #1
by Alex Maleev

I mean do I really need to explain why this is a beautiful cover? Yes? Ok. Well I personally enjoy the aggressive body language that Maleev has instilled in the figure looking back at us. I feel it really sets the tone for a book that seems ready to piss on the authorities. The cover definitely yells at the reader to pick it up and see what’s inside.

There you have it! Pretty sweet covers this week right? Well I’ll leave you with the artist rankings as they stand after this week’s edition. See everyone next week!

1. Adi Granov — 12
2. David Finch — 7
3. Adam Kubert — 4
4. Chris Bachalo — 4
