So day one and two are over. Yesterday, I agve you the short end of the news by explaining what I thought was important while giving you a bit of humor that wasn’t even remotely funny. Tonight i’ll give you some of the same and try to make it even less funny. Some decent announcements were made today and one in particular broke my stride and made me just a tad sad and equal parts pissed off. So what happened at C2E2 on day two? Click the jump and find out sucka!

#1 V.O.M.I.T. S. = Virtually Only Marvel is Truly Surprised
So this is one that everyone saw coming. Finally we will get the story behind the wedding day breakup of Mary Jane and Peter. As someone who loves the new direction I could honestly care less what happened on that day. I would though love to know what MJ whispered to Mephisto. That is the only thing I really am dying to know.

The Pro: Fans are smart and totally knew what O.M.I.T. stood for long before Rich Jonhston or Marvel spilled the beans.

The Con: Who the hell cares what happened at the wedding?! It’s been retconned and it no later has relevance. Let’s all move along and enjoy the Amazingly Spectacular stories we’ve gotten since they broke the two up.

2. Marvel Animation Disassembled
So my two favorite Marvel cartoons since the 90’s X-Men cartoon have both been canceled. Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine and the X-Men both were given the death sentence on Saturday. I am really disappointed with these announcements. Expect a column from me later in the week about this. I’ve got some stuff to say.
The Pros: NONE WHATSOEVER!
The Con: THEY’RE CANCELED!
#3 Yo Casanova!
Matt Fraction is taking is ball and he’s going home with it. Matt Fraction’s critically and fan acclaimed title Casanova is heading to Marvel’s Icon imprint. It makes sense for a hardcore Marvel guy to take his pet project to the companies creator owned line. Much like Bendis and Oeming have done with Powers Fraction and Ba will now do with Casanova.

The Pro: More Casanova for those that are into that sort of thing.

The Con: Another title leaves Image for Marvel’s Icon line.

#4 Finally the Heinberg Comes Back To Young Avengers!
Alan Heinberg and Jim Cheung return to the Young Avengers. This is a title that really shined and stood out with these guys behind it. Now we’ll not only get the return of the creators but we will also get the return of Scarlet Witch. It looks like this is shaping up to overall extremely awesome. The story will unravel over 9 issues and it will ship bi-monthly.
The Pros: It’s spaced out so the team can get quality work into us. Also, i’d say just about all of this is a pro in my book. The first YA done by these guys was stellar.
The Cons: Not much in the con category here fanpeeps.
5. Superboy Returns!
Ian Sattler, AKA, GuiDIDIO was asked at the DC Universe panel if there was a chance that Superboy might get his own title again. His response was “sooner than you think”. This is awesome news! So those of you that love the character as much as I do will be happy to hear that.

The Pro: Superboy’s coming back baby!
The Con: We don’t know when.
Well, there you go everyone more coverage as dictated by The Burpee. I want to point out that I find it odd that Marvel has so many announcements this weekend and there really isn’t much coming from DC it seems. Perhaps i’m missing something here but I don’t think I am. Anyway see you at the conclusion of C2E2 with the final installment of this unread coverage.
