Introducing: The Tweet Off

Because we’re weak, we can’t resist the urge to do our very own March Madness tournament. Unlike other tourneys though, we’re waiting until roughly the same time as the NCAA tournament starts to kick off ours, and it’s a doozy: once and for all, we’re going to decide who the best comic person on Twitter is.

Twitter is a haven for comic creators and editors and personalities, and they’ve found a great place to alternately share their thoughts, their work and tease us with awesome things just on the horizon. As the guy who runs Multiversity’s Twitter, it became quickly apparent that comic folks often are cool as hell and, when they’re not, they’re entertaining in other ways.

To try to decide who the top person on Twitter is, we’ve created a bracket of 32 contenders ranked in order of most followers on Twitter – the most democratic way – with our top seeds coming in as Neil Gaiman, Agent M, Warren Ellis and Joe Hill. We picked creators both big and small though, and the way we’ll decide is pretty easy, and it requires your help.

– We’ll post four match-ups a day in the fist round – one bracket each – share each person’s work, their Twitter handle, and a little bit about them.

– We’ll include a poll in the post for each match up, that way you can vote to be the tiebreaker vote if our two judges disagree.

– The two judges will be myself (@slicedfriedgold) and Matt Meylikhov (@mattisnotarobot), MC’s EIC.

It’ll run every week day and wrap pretty quick, and it should be pretty awesome. Share your thoughts in the comments each day, and don’t forget to vote in the polls! Here are the four regions below:

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
