Welcome, citizens, to this week’s installment of Multiver-City One! Each and every Wednesday we will be examining the latest Prog from Tharg and the droids over at 2000 AD, and giving you all the pertinent information you’ll need headed into this week’s Thrill-Zine!
I. THIS WEEK IN PROG 1860
As Tharg himself has been saying the last few progs, there’s a big changeover waiting to happen in the 100-page Prog 2014, coming to you in two weeks. But before all those new stories can start up the thrill-power, the current ones have to wrap up, yes? This Prog covers the penultimate chapter in all the ongoings, but the one that carries the bulk of the issue is…
Damnation Station: The Howling Beast on the Borderline, Part 3
Clocking in at 10 pages, this part brings the goods! Joe Nowhere, revealed earlier to be part of The Enemy, is leading a fleet of Earth Stations back to them to finish things off, once and for all! Joe knows The Enemy well enough to know what it will take to do that, but can he bring himself to pay the price for victory? When the stakes are this high, there can be no half-measures. Al Ewing’s script doesn’t make things easy for Joe, but Mark Harrison’s art makes putting yourself right in the middle of intergalactic war incredibly easy. From nostalgic HUD displays to swirling nebulas of color so bright they practically glow off the page, Harrison brings his digital/linework combo to full speed ahead in this Prog!

II. AN ORAL HISTORY OF JUDGE DREDD
The tale of Judge Dredd has been continually published since 1977, and has been brought to us by some of the most creative minds to ever work in comics. As a result, there have been some out-of-this-world story beats woven into the fabric of the character. We thought it would be interesting to talk with the writers and artists behind Mega-City One and see what their favorite bits of Dredd’s history are. This week, writer Douglas Wolk sheds a little light on some rarely seen Dredd appearances in the UK but outside 2000AD.

III. FUTURE PERP FILES
ATTN: ALL CITIZENS OF THE MEG! Be aware that there is always a Judge watching you. Each sector is equipped with millions of HD-CCTV and bioID units. They are there for your protection. If your intent is upright citizenry, then you have no qualm with our surveillance. And remember: if you see something, you are now an accessory to a crime. That’s six months in an Iso-Cube, creep! Random CPU algorithms has selected this citizen for immediate surveillance and assessment…
That’s gonna do it for us this week! Prog 1860 is on sale today and is available from finer comic shops everywhere, from 2000ADonline.com, and via the 2000 AD Newsstand app for iPad and iPhone. So as Tharg the Mighty himself would say, “Splundig vur thrigg!”
