Comic books are a visual medium.

What sets them apart from other mediums and makes them such a perfect form of fiction is their ability to render a story with limitless imagination and seemingly infinite detail, thanks to the craft and skills of the talented artists who work in the industry.

Yet for some reason, we tend to overlook their efforts in comics criticism and media.

This month at Multiversity Comics, we’re looking to make up for that with a feature we’re calling Artist August. Every day this month we’ll be sharing interviews with some of our favorite artists around, from top names like JH Williams III, Ryan Ottley and Charlie Adlard to up-and-comers like Nate Simpson, Natalie Nourigat and Tradd Moore. On top of that, we’ll be providing great examples of their art as well as art process pieces that show our readers just how they create their work.

I’d like to say thanks to everyone who agreed to participate in this with us, and if you enjoy it, please share with us and please, buy these great creators work. Also, come back over the next couple hours to see an interview, an art process piece and an art feature on one of our favorite rising stars in the industry – The Red Wing’s Nick Pitarra.
