Man! What a crazy good month of comic book covers April was. It makes sense that the month where Eisner nominations came out sees a massive list of great covers (or maybe it’s just coincidental, in which case shut up), and I’m excited to share my favorites and the updated rankings for my personal 2012 Best Cover Artist ballot.

Before that though, I wanted to share my favorite cover of the month: Massimo Carnevale’s cover to “Northlanders” #50. This series from Brian Wood and a bevy of artists was an MC favorite, and one of the underrated reasons was Carnevale’s gorgeous covers. This might have been the best of the entire run. Bravo to all involved, but a tip of the cap to Carnevale for his run of greatness on this book.
