So I was reading some back issues the other day, and when I got to the end of each of them I fondly reminisced over, what seems to be, the long forgotten art of the letters column. I used to love reading those. Reading fan questions to industry folks who would in turn answer the questions, at times with just enough snark to make me chuckle. While you didn’t always see a straight answer, you were at least usually very amused.
Well, this got me thinking – Why doesn’t MC have a letters column column? Yes, you read that correctly: a letters column column. A column filled with questions from you – our readers – with me answering them!
These questions can be about anything. Most should be about comics, but feel free to ask anything. This letters column column will be a weekly deal and each week I will work through the mailbag and answer as many questions as possible. Some of you may get a solid answer and some of you may get a Burpee type of answer. (if you’re not sure what a Burpee type of answer is then you’re in for a treat! At least I’d like to think so.)
Not sure what to ask? Let me throw out some suggestions:
- Recommended reading
- Questions about care for comics
- Opinions on things (I do love sharing those)
- Suggestions on beers to drink while reading
- Who’s hotter: Bea Arthur or Pat?
Anything is fair game. So get me those questions and next Tuesday I’ll post the first set of answers. Also, since this letters column column still doesn’t have an official name send me suggestions and just like those old letter columns I’ll chose one from the provided and it will become the new title! So send any and all questions to: brandon@multiversitycomics.com or even on twitter @BrandonBurpee
See ya next week!
