Welcome back to Saturday Morning Panels! You know the drill. Each week the Multiversity staff lovingly scours the new releases to find you, our dear reader, our favorite panels and moments.

Since this week is Christmas, we have some of our favorite panels celebrating winter holidays of all kinds and the winter season. So kick-back, watch out for spoilers, and talk about your favorites in the comments section below!

And from all of us at Multiversity to all of you, a very Merry Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate) — may you find comfort and joy in friends, family, and tradition in what has been a tumultuous year.

Writer: Tim Seeley; Artist: Salvador Espin
“Age of X-Man: Apocalypse & the X-tracts” #1: There is so much wrong with this image, like Kitty BLOWING OUT THE CANDLES???? on a decidedly not kosher Menorah but at least the trivia of there being two different kinds of Menorahs is right; 7 is the traditional one from the temple whereas the 9 is commemorative of the holiday and called a Chanukiah. – Elias Rosner

Writer: Jed MacKay; Artist: Travel Foreman
“Black Cat” #4: Really, as a Jewish comic book fan, I just like little touches like this that acknowledge Ben Grimm’s faith. – Robbie Pleasant

“Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins III” #4: This holiday season, remember to give your D&D players something they really want: a deadly fight against a white dragon and its wonderful treasure hoard. – Robbie Pleasant

Writer: Paul Scheer & Nick Giovanetti; Artist: Steve Lieber
“DC’s Very Merry Multiverse” #1: The least you could’ve done is having her munch on some Chinese food. No movies this year but it ain’t Christmas in a New York Jew’s household without Chinese food. – Elias Rosner

Writer: Jeff Lemire; Artists: Phil Hester and Eric Gapstur; Colorist: Ryan Cody; Letterer: Steve Wands
“Family Tree” #12: Of course. It’s required Christmas viewing. – Kate Kosturski

Writer: Mike Mignola & Chris Roberson; Artist: Paul Grist; Colorist: Bill Crabtree; Letterer: Clem Robins
“Hellboy Winter Special (2017)” #1: Depends. Is this a “Christmas Carol” riff or not? – Elias Rosner

Writer: Kurt Busiek; Artist: Alex Ross; Letterer: Richard Starkings
“Marvels Epilogue”: Alex Ross is just great at Christmas scenes, isn’t he? – Christopher Chiu-Tabet

“Merry X-Men Special” #1: Leave it to Chris Sims, Chad Bowers and Marco Failla to remind me of my pre-adolescent crush on Jubilee. She does Christmas right. – Jake Hill

“Merry X-Men Special” #1: It’s cool that Cannonball has time to celebrate Hannukah with his Jewish wife and still be an intergalactic Santa Claus. That’s how you superhero right. – Jake Hill

Writer: Jamie S. Rich; Artist: Paco Diaz
“Marvel Holiday Special” (2011): Still the GOAT for Hanukkah in superhero comics – Christopher Chiu-Tabet

Writer: Chris Roberson; Artist: Abel; Colorist: DJ Chavis; Letterer: Nate Pierkos
“Stranger Things Winter Special” #1: Hopper smarter than every parent in 1984. – Kate Kosturski

Writer: Chris Roberson; Artist: Abel; Colorist: DJ Chavis; Letterer: Nate Pierkos
“Stranger Things Winter Special” #1: Coming in 2022 to AppleTV+: The Ted Lasso Christmas Carol. – Kate Kosturski

Writer: Paul Dini; Artist: Alex Ross
“Superman: Peace on Earth”: Superman delivering a Christmas tree embodies everything that’s wholesome about the character – Christopher Chiu-Tabet

“’Tis the Season to be Freezin’” #1: This is Alfred’s happy face. He’s just been around Bruce so long his default expression is “stoic sarcasm.” – Robbie Pleasant

Writer: Ryan North; Artist: Derek Charm; Colorist: Rico Renzi; Letterer: Travis Lanham
“The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl” #43: Doreen is demonstrating advanced shoveling technique. Sadly advanced does not mean fast or easy. – Elias Rosner

All of it: Stan Sakai
“Usagi Yojimbo” Saga Vol. 2: It’s the true meaning of Christmas. – Elias Rosner
