Hello, and welcome to Saturday Morning Panels, your new favorite Multiversity column! It’s a very simple concept: since none of us are up to watching Saturday morning cartoons anymore, we are instead going to share with you our favorite panels from the week before. It’s a bit like Comics Should Be Cheap, except with more pictures and less reading.
And, of course, spoilers are probably abundant.
We encourage you to play along at home and let us know what your favorite moments of the week were in the comment section! In the meantime, our picks:

Matthew’s Pick: “Sex Criminals” #2
There are many panels I could’ve picked from this issue as just about the whole thing was Saturday Morning Panel-worthy, but I decided to go with one of the few SFW examples imply to highlight how wonderful the book is. In the immortal words Joseph Stalin, “D’awww… that’s adorable.”

Vince’s Pick: “Pretty Deadly” #1
Kelly Sue DeConnick told an anecdote at NYCC 2013 about how she was once told that artists don’t like to draw horses and Westerns don’t sell. Well, “Pretty Deadly” sells right to me and Emma Rios can draw one hell of a horse. You’re nuts if you miss out on this beautiful book.

David Henderson and Zach’s Pick: Also “Pretty Deadly #1
I first saw Emma Rios’ art in the aptly named “Amazing Spider-Man” #677 (Get it? Because… because it as amazing…) and since then she has failed to disappoint me. In fact, with “Pretty Deadly” it’s like I’m falling in love with her art all over again. What a gorgeous book. – David
I pretty much said it all in my review. This is so awesome and Western I can’t even stand it. Take note, this is the start of an epic. – Zach

Michelle’s Pick: “Numbercruncher” #4
Lovable goon, judicious use of the phrase “gnat’s knob”, sudden change of heart regarding what the mathematical mastermind is going to do next — check, check, check. “Numbercruncher” has been full of little turns like these, and they all add up to a thoroughly enjoyable read.

James’ Pick: “Young Avengers” #11
I have nothing to add to this panel aside from three minutes of heavy uninterrupted breathing.

Mark’s Pick: “Hellboy: The Midnight Circus”
Hellboy crosses over from one art style to another. This panel broadened the scope of the story, bringing a larger-than-life quality to the proceedings.
