Saturday Morning Panels (Week of 11/12/14)

Hello, and welcome to Saturday Morning Panels! It’s a very simple concept: since none of us are up to watching Saturday morning cartoons anymore, we are instead going to share with you our favorite panels from the week before. It’s a bit like Comics Should Be Cheap, except with more pictures and less reading.

And, of course, spoilers are probably abundant.

We encourage you to play along at home and let us know what your favorite moments of the week were in the comment section! In the meantime, our picks:

“Alex + Ada” #10: “Alex + Ada” is a lot of things all at once, but it’s rarely really, really funny. This made me laugh out loud. Well played, and it’s a great little touch for a budding relationship. – David Harper

“Alex + Ada” #10: ESPN’s next 30 for 30 is going to be way different than usual. – David Harper

“All-New Captain America” #1: Reading something like this, it’s easy to see how Remender could write something like “AXIS.” Unlike “AXIS,” though, I really enjoyed this! – Matthew Meylikhov

“Batgirl” #36: Those faces are priceless. – Keith Dooley

“Batgirl” #36: Some nice action work courtesy of Babs Tarr. – Matthew Garcia

“Batman” #36: I know Snyder is predominantly a horror writer, but good lord, this is perhaps the most horrifying thing he’s written yet. – Matthew Meylikhov

“Batman” #36: Bruce has brains and heart! – Keith Dooley

“Batman” #36: We sure did! – Keith Dooley

“Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier” #2: Oh, good lord. – Matthew Meylikhov

“Captain Marvel” #9: I don’t get it. What rhymes with “knot?” (Honestly, I still can’t believe they pulled off a rhyming issue. That’s pretty incredible.) – Matthew Meylikhov

“Drifter” #1: Abram falling over after the priest was talking about how he had risen is my kind of humor. – David Harper

“Green Lantern Corps” #36: Colorist Marcelo Maiolo sure loves the color green. First “Green Arrow” and now “Green Lantern Corps”. Gorgeous, just gorgeous. – Keith Dooley

“High Crimes” #8: Everyone should be reading this amazing digital comic by writer Christopher Sebela and artist Ibrahim Moustafa. It’s only 99 cents too! – Keith Dooley

“Howtoons: ReIgnition” #4: You know, there are people out there who believe this would be the solution for solving the climate change problem. The repetition of the dirigible against an apocalyptic background is a nice touch, and gives you that hint that the people who climbed up into it never bothered to change anything. – Matthew Garcia

“Outcast” #5: That demon is just asking for trouble. – Keith Dooley

“The Fade Out” #3: This whole issue was rather incredible, but this sequence in particular stood out to me. Phillips has been knocking it out of the park with this series in unbelievable ways. – Matthew Meylikhov

“The Fade Out #3: This would be creepy no matter what, but the fact that this type of thing likely used to happen makes it even more so. – David Harper

“The Fade Out” #3: Sweet, sweet revenge. – Keith Dooley

“Thor” #2: This is it. This is the series. – Matthew Meylikhov

“She-Hulk” #10: OBJECTION!Matthew Meylikhov

“Wild’s End” #3: There are a lot of things I love about this book, but the sassy, shut in writer being a cat is high on my list. This is one of her finer moments. – David Harper

“Wytches” #2: Jock’s art and Matt Hollingsworth’s colors combine for a truly haunting book. – Keith Dooley

“Wytches” #2: There will be PLENTY of screaming! – Keith Dooley
