Hello, and welcome to Saturday Morning Panels, your new favorite Multiversity column! It’s a very simple concept: since none of us are up to watching Saturday morning cartoons anymore, we are instead going to share with you our favorite panels from the week before. It’s a bit like Comics Should Be Cheap, except with more pictures and less reading.
And, of course, spoilers are probably abundant.
We encourage you to play along at home and let us know what your favorite moments of the week were in the comment section! In the meantime, our picks:

Matthew’s Pick: “Deadly Class” #1
It’s hard to pick a panel, singular, from this week’s best comic, “Deadly Class.” Like, really hard; not only is the book full of amazing moments, but the way that Wes Craig lays out each page also makes it so every panel is necessary. You can’t isolate it into singular quippy moments or particularly engaging sequences because the whole thing flows together. Picking a panel out of “Deadly Class” is akin to trying to get a single drop of water from a flowing river — unless you’re a master samurai or something, it’s a nigh impossible task.
So that’s why I’ve submitted a full page. And, also, go read “Deadly Class.”

Vince’s Pick: “Judge Dredd: Mega-City Two” #1
This is insanely good shit. I’m not even sure how an artist goes about tackling a page like this conceptually, much less actually getting down to brass tacks and doing it. And then to slip a Stallone reference in there? Ulises Farinas, a major tip of the hat to you, sir.

James’ Pick: “Zero” #5
It’s only been five issues. I think that’s the craziest part about “Zero.” Ales Kot created an entire world, filled it with all these compelling characters and flipped it around all in the space of five issues. What a glorious madman.

David’s Pick: “Wolverine and the X-Men” #40
Wolverine and the X-Men is my X-Men comic. I love that book with a passion, and this issue managed to give us the first moment in years I feel where Wolverine and Cyclops treated each other like people who have met before. Sure they have their differences, but they always have, and this found them finding common ground in those differences. It was a moment I’ve been waiting for, and it was so worth the wait, and marvelously handled by Jason Aaron and Pepe Larraz

Zach’s Pick: “Hawkeye” #16
“Original Sin” may be months away, but that doesn’t stop Matt Fraction from teasing Marvel’s 2015 event.
