Hello, and welcome to Saturday Morning Panels! It’s a very simple concept: since none of us are up to watching Saturday morning cartoons anymore, we are instead going to share with you our favorite panels from the week before. It’s a bit like Comics Should Be Cheap, except with more pictures and less reading.
And, of course, spoilers are probably abundant.
As a note, this week features some content that is not safe for work. Please keep that in mind when reading, and don’t get in trouble with your boss if you read this column Monday mornings.
We encourage you to play along at home and let us know what your favorite moments of the week were in the comment section! In the meantime, our picks:

“Action Comics” #38: Aaron Kuder never ceases to amaze me. This is one powerful splash page and it’s so simple, yet emotionally effective. – Keith Dooley

“Deadly Class” #10: Oh god, I’ve been there, and Deadly Class undoubtedly wins the ‘Bender of the Week’ award from yours truly. – David Harper

“Deadly Class” #10: I definitely didn’t relate to this part of the story. No I didn’t. That has never happened to me. I imagine – IMAGINE – it would be really horrible. Really, really horrible. But god did it make me laugh. – David Harper; Deleted scene from “AXIS” #9. – Matthew Meylikhov

“Detective Comics” #38: That’s freakin’ badass! The Batmobile can do just about anything and look cool doing it. – Keith Dooley

“The Fade Out” #4: The runner up for my ‘Bender of the Week’ rankings. Been there been there been there. But god, do Brubaker and Phillips make the muddled memory and time scale work so well in their retelling of the tale. – David Harper

“The Fade Out” #4: Sean Phillips’ artistic style changes throughout this issue, making certain scenes stand out. And these panels make quite an impact. They feel like faded memories. – Keith Dooley

“Feathers” #1: I’m sort of all about how Jorge Corona’s showing this whistling trance from the Scarlet Scarf. It’s like wrapping around everyone and just bringing them in closer — and closer — and — – Matthew Garcia

“Hellboy and the BPRD” #2: Oh snap, son. – Matthew Garcia; Hellboy, this will not be the last time you fight an absolutely mad ape. But god, is it good to get back to the basics. – David Harper

“Lady Killer” #1: Never has domestic life looked prettier than with Joelle Jones and Laura Allred on art. – David Harper

“Nailbiter” #9: This might be the creepiest scene of the week. – Keith Dooley

“Trees” #8: Warren Ellis is a garbage man with garbage ideas and I hate him. I’m not crying. You’re crying. – David Harper

“Trees” #8: This breathtaking splash page of an escaping helicopter reminds me, naturally, of “Jurassic Park”. – Keith Dooley

“The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl” #1: Mew the Cat is named after Cat Thor’s Hammer, Mewnir. I am not making this up and it’s kind of amazing. – Matthew Garcia
