Hello, and welcome to Saturday Morning Panels, your new favorite Multiversity column! It’s a very simple concept: since none of us are up to watching Saturday morning cartoons anymore, we are instead going to share with you our favorite panels from the week before. It’s a bit like Comics Should Be Cheap, except with more pictures and less reading.
And, of course, spoilers are probably abundant.
We encourage you to play along at home and let us know what your favorite moments of the week were in the comment section! In the meantime, our picks –

The Obligatory “I See What You Did There” Pick: “Red She-Hulk” #65
I see what you did there!

Matthew’s Pick: “Avengers” #11
God dammit, Doug.

Vince’s Pick: “Thor: God of Thunder” #8
Thor-vengers. ASSEMBLE!

Highlander David’s Pick: “Thor: God of Thunder” #8
I was going back and forth between this panel and the absolute badass last panel of this issue, but this panel won out purely on how funny it is to me. Jason Aaron puts a lot of weird humor in his comics (remember that time Hulk ended up in a Sasquatch city?), but somehow even against the epic story in “Thor” it never feels out of place to me.

Diamond Dave’s Pick: “The Private Eye” #2
The Private Eye is one tremendously beautiful book, both in writing and art. But sometimes, less is more in comics, and no panel better ascribes that quality to this issue than the panel I’ve chosen. This is BKV and Marcos Martin working perfectly in sync. This is power in motion. This is the power of storytelling. This is comic books at its absolute finest. It’s a remarkable panel, and the double underline beneath that aforementioned concept: less is more.

Michelle’s Pick: “The Private Eye” #2
Of course the secret meet-up apartment in this comic is filled with picturesque old-timey radios and televisions (although given the premise of the comic, they’re actually not old-timey at all). That’s to be expected! But Muntsa Vincente’s colours here are nothing short of delicious, and make the moment even more mysterious and sinister.

Zach’s Pick: “Suicide Squad” #20
Crunk
/krəNGk/
Adjective
(of a person) Very excited or full of energy: “get crunk with some tense Scrabble”.
Exclamation
Used to imitate the sound of a metal pipe against human flesh and bone.
A 10 point word for a perfect 10 panel.

Jame’s Pick: “Uncanny Avengers” #8
I really feel that should be on the poster for The Wolverine.
