Hello, and welcome to Saturday Morning Panels, your new favorite Multiversity column! It’s a very simple concept: since none of us are up to watching Saturday morning cartoons anymore, we are instead going to share with you our favorite panels from the week before. It’s a bit like Comics Should Be Cheap, except with more pictures and less reading.
And, of course, spoilers are probably abundant.
We encourage you to play along at home and let us know what your favorite moments of the week were in the comment section! In the meantime, our picks –

Walter’s Pick: “Mara” #5
I know, another final page cliffhanger. What can I say, I’m a sucker for medium cliches. As I’ve said probably a billion times at this point, I was not a huge fan of the first issue of “Mara,” but it has grown to be one of my favorite miniseries coming out right now, if not my favorite. Obviously, the series has been building up to a big breaking point, but I never expected it to be… well, this. If this issue had one to three more pages, it could have ended right here, but with a full issue ahead of us, it’s clear that there’s more to this story than Mara simply deeming the human race unworthy (well, maybe). Either way, that’s one hell of a note to end on before the final issue.

Michelle’s Pick: “Mind the Gap” #11
It’s a tiny little moment, but an issue of “Mind the Gap” just wouldn’t be complete without Jo saying something badass. Also Miles’ expression here is priceless.

David’s Pick: “BPRD Hell on Earth #108: Wasteland” #2
BPRD 108. The first sight of Chicago.
Things are bad in the world of the B.P.R.D. Really bad. But we didn’t know how bad, and in this issue, particularly this page, Laurence Campbell and the writers of B.P.R.D. really let us know, and holy crap, things are bad. Monsters? Flames? Power outages? Things are dark in the world of the B.P.R.D.
Literally.

Zach’s Pick: “Uncanny Avengers” #9
If Superman exists in the Marvel universe, then here is definitive proof Simon Williams should play him in the next film adaptation.

Vince’s Pick: “Wonder Woman” #21
The fill-in art on “Wonder Woman” is always good, but whenever regular artist Cliff Chiang comes back on, you’re reminded of how truly great he is. His is the definitive Wonder Woman look for me.
