Saturday Morning Panels (Week of 8/26/15)

Hello, and welcome to Saturday Morning Panels! It’s a very simple concept: since none of us are up to watching Saturday morning cartoons anymore, we are instead going to share with you our favorite panels from the week before. It’s a bit like Comics Should Be Cheap, except with more pictures and less reading.

And, of course, SPOILERS are probably abundant.

We encourage you to play along at home and let us know what your favorite moments of the week were in the comment section! In the meantime, our picks:

“Batgirl” #43:
Batgirl jumps the tiger. – Keith Dooley

“Grayson” #11: One of the many reasons why we love Dick (besides his physique). – Keith Dooley

“We Are Robin” #3:
When Robins attack! – Keith Dooley

“Gotham by Midnight” #8:
Juan Ferreyra sure knows how to turn up the creepiness. – Keith Dooley

“Superman” #43:It looks like Clark has more than one big talent. – Keith Dooley

“Superman” #43:
They actually got married in the ’90s, not ’50s. And maybe (hopefully) in the future. – Keith Dooley

“Roche Limit: Clandestiny” #4:
When spinal columns attack! – Keith Dooley

“Rumble” #6: I enjoyed the first arc of Rumble, but this issue was better. This sobering moment gave what came before it that much more weight… as well as what comes next. It was just a really nice shift in tone. ― Mark Tweedale

“Fight Club 2” #4: Just so we’re all clear on the rules. ― Mark Tweedale

“Hellboy in Hell” #7: The Hounds of Pluto (Part 1): There were many moments that had me laughing reading this book, but this one had me snickering to myself days later as the word “halibut” kept swimming into my head. ― Mark Tweedale

“Hellboy in Hell” #7: The Hounds of Pluto (Part 1): Alice. ― Mark Tweedale

“New MGMT” #1: This is a reflection of how I feel about the ending of one of my favorite series ever. – Keith Dooley

“New MGMT” #1:
This whole series was a triumph. Kindt’s evolution as an artist and storyteller was just as interesting to watch as the psychic spy battles. Something like this, I think, shows what he’s capable of effectively delivering now than he would have been way back in issue 1. This series had a great ending, but it’s still a little sad to see it go. – Matt Garcia

“New MGMT” #1: And it has been magnificent. – Keith Dooley

“Lumberjanes” #17:
The original dialogue: Jen: “WITNESS ME!!!” April: “YOU ARE AWAITED. YOU ARE AWAITED IN VALHALLA! – Matt Garcia

“Over the Garden Wall” #1:
Well, that escalated quickly. – Matt Garcia
