Hello, and welcome to Saturday Morning Panels! It’s a very simple concept: since none of us are up to watching Saturday morning cartoons anymore, we are instead going to share with you our favorite panels from the week before. It’s a bit like Comics Should Be Cheap, except with more pictures and less reading.
And, of course, spoilers are probably abundant.
We encourage you to play along at home and let us know what your favorite moments of the week were in the comment section! In the meantime, our picks:
“Batman Eternal” #25: Harper Row is definitely becoming worthy to count herself as a member of the Bat-family. Red Robin and the future Bluebird make an excellent team. Please give them a book, DC! – Keith Dooley
“Batman Eternal” #25: Somebody notify FedEx, because I’m shipping Bluebird and Red Robin so hard. – Vince Ostrowski
“Batman Eternal” #25: Family is eternal. – Keith Dooley
“Chew” #43: Beyond how great Chew is on a regular basis, the little Easter Eggs that they throw into every issue make it all the better. These “Kirkman the Barbarian” posters need their own miniseries. – Leo Johnson
“Chew” #43: Oh shit, America + skull and crossbones? Ya’ll are fucked now. – David Harper
“Evil Empire” #5: This is what happens when you let Joe Eisma off the show. Armdick knife-y hands. – Matthew Meylikhov
“The New 52: Futures End” #20: If I were Cadmus, I’d be afraid. Very afraid. – Keith Dooley
“Low” #3: Where has Greg Tocchini been all my life? His art appears as if it’s from another dimension. Breathtaking. – Keith Dooley
“Lumberjanes” #6: Oh my God, Jo, you’re breaking the rules! STOP BREAKING THE RULES! – Matthew Garcia
“New Avengers” #24: Shiiiiiii… – Matthew Meylikhov
“Outcast” #4: Just one reason why Elizabeth Breitweiser is one of the best colorists around. Her colors ooze atmosphere and impending horror. Paul Azaceta’s art is nothing to sneeze at, either. I don’t trust that old man with the creepy grin. – Keith Dooley
“Pop” #2: Kind of like Gustav Klimt meeds 1960s adverts meets acid? So captivating. – Samantha LeBas
“Princess Ugg” #4: The techniques and practices at Princess Ulga’s Uniequestrian Training Academy are highly suspect. – Matthew Garcia
“Saga” #23: Lying Cat: The TV Show. Sounds exactly like the kind of program you’d probably see on current generation NBC as part of Jack Donaghy’s plan to tank the network. – Matthew Meylikhov
“Saga” #23: I’d tell Saga to quit playin’ games with my heart, but I love their games so much. – David Harper
“Sensation Comics” #7: Well, looks like Marguerite Sauvage is my new favorite artist. – Matthew Meylikhov
“Sinestro: Future’s End”: For my money, the biggest surprise from “Futures End Month” was penciller Igor Lima. Remember his name. If he’s not the next big thing coming out of DC Comics, then something went horribly wrong. – Matthew Meylikhov
“Superman: Doomed” #2: Wow. That’s a pretty page. I felt chills while pondering the ramifications of this “infinite” crash and couldn’t stop thinking of how much I love the multiverse. Plus Doug Moench/Kelley Jones Vampire Batman! – Keith Dooley
“Wayward” #2: That moment when you find out they’re the one is just so magical. – David Harper
