This week, DC announced digital first series “Batman ’89” and “Superman ’78.” These two series take place within the world of these films, giving fans of those series new stories in the same tone and style. While DC is no stranger to this, having published both “Batman ’66” and “Wonder Woman ’77” before, this has history elsewhere as well, as 2000AD has published a number of stories that set in the Dredd film series. DC has consistently been making comics set in the Batman Beyond and Batman: The Animated Series worlds, Marvel had its “X-Men ’92” book for awhile as well.
So, for today’s Reader Poll, we want to know what film or television series you’d most like to see expanded in a few series. A few house rules: we’re only spotlighting one film in a series, or else the list would be overrun by MCU titles. That said, we are playing a little bit fast and loose with the rules, because although Batman Forever is technically a sequel to the Tim Burton films, they are really the vision of Joel Schumaker instead of Tim Burton, so we’re counting that as a separate series. We are also including both Unbreakable and Darkman because they are dope, even if they didn’t originate in a comic. So sue us.
We’re also including the Snyder Cut, because we’re stinkers like that.
