Welcome to the Rundown! Until our regularly scheduled rundowner, David Harper, gets back from getting hitched (ooooooooooooooooooh), I’ll be your guide to all things newsworthy that slipped through our reporting cracks. Email any pertinent articles to brian@multiversitycomics.com

While the search for a new Batman to star in Superman/Batman, an old Batman has apparently been offered the gig. Reportedly, Christian Bale has been offered a whopping fifty million dollars to reprise his role once again. While the continuity nerd in me loves the idea of a connection between the Nolan films and the new film, I think the Bale/Nolan films work best as a standalone, self-contained, finite trilogy.

While most of the news about DC’s Villain Month has been negative lately, Robert Venditti has stepped in to remind us that some of these stories will have real impact on the future stories of the DCU.

J.M. DeMatteis is taking over as the new writer of “Justice League Dark” from the stellar team of Ray Fawkes and Jeff Lemire. This puts DeMatteis at four ongoing series (“Justice League 3000,” “Justice League Dark,” “Larfleeze” and “Trinity of Sin: The Phantom Stranger”), making him the new Scott Lobdell at DC. Except much, much better.

Supposedly, the recently revived Titan Comics will be the new US publisher of “Doctor Who” comics.

From a self-contained story, to a self-contained story with a month’s worth of tie-ins, to an ever growing tie-in avalanche, ‘Zero Year’ keeps growing. First, we will see the story, somewhat predictably, expanding to “Detective Comics” and “Action Comics,” but more surprising is the announcement that “Green Lantern Corps” will feature a “Zero Year’ tie-in issue.

Remember how Marvel made a big deal out of reimbursing retailers for a portion of their digital sales? Well, no more. Dance elsewhere, Deadpool!

Will Metamorpho appear on Arrow? Will we be getting a new Aquaman animated film? Will we be getting a “Hit Girl: Origins” series? All will be revealed soon-ish.

Finally, a new Ewoks graphic novel is coming! I’m sure someone is stoked about this!
