The sixth day of our March Madness tourney, called The Tweet Off, is here, and with it the close of the Sweet 16. We’re figuring out who the best comic person is on Twitter, and we’re going to have the highly scientific method of ranking our 32 favorites by Twitter followers, and then having you the reader vote alongside both of us to decide each winner. Both Matt and David will be voting as well, with each day’s winners being announced the next day. The winner gets our love and adoration, and gets to move on to the next round. Lucky them.
We’re to our second round, and we’ll be breaking down the two remaining match ups in two brackets today.
Let’s get to the match-ups.

(8) Jordie Bellaire (@WHOAJordie) vs. (4) Kelly Sue DeConnick (@KellySue)
Followers: 3,740 for Jordie, 14,767 for Kelly Sue
Their Work: Jordie Bellaire is the coloring queen, the woman who turns comic book Oz’s into technicolor. She colors Nowhere Men, Mara, The Manhattan Projects and Journey into Mystery…and that’s just the books in her Twitter profile header! She’s one of the coolest cats around, and we enjoy the hell out of her. Of course, we also enjoy Kelly Sue DeConnick, the writer of books like Captain Marvel, Avengers Assemble and the upcoming Pretty Deadly. She’s pretty amazing at Twitter, although I must say it seems she’s been pretty focused on her Tumblin’ lately.

(3) Gail Simone (@GailSimone) vs. (2) Rob Guillory (@Rob_Guillory)
Followers: 34,518 for Simone, 5,908 for Guillory
Their Work: Simone is the writer of Batgirl and the upcoming Red Sonja, as well as the giver of previous gifts like Secret Six and Welcome to Tranquility. She’s pretty much the queen of an army of fans, all of whom love her work and personality simply because…well, why wouldn’t they? Rob Guillory has no army, but he does have opinions. Really, really hilarious and scathing opinions, which he shares on the regular on Twitter. He also provides all of the important insight into Marvel’s burgeoning cameltoe arms race, which is the March Madness bracket we really want to see.

(1) Joe Hill (@Joe_Hill) vs. (5) Francesco Francavilla (@F_Francavilla)
Followers: 169,529 for Hill, 10,082 for Francavilla
Their Work: Joe Hill writes Locke & Key, which is maybe one of the best three or four books being released on the regular in comics. He’s also a novelist and a generally awesome guy with discerning taste, so it seems. Meanwhile, Francesco Francavilla is one of the nicest, coolest people in comics, and his positivity is a lantern of awesome in the snark ridden world of Twitter. He also draws things real good, and The Black Beetle rocks our socks.

Followers: 38,242 for Fraction, 74,334 for O’Malley
Their Work: Hobo Darkseid vs. maybe the strangest feed in comics. Oh, they also do things like #Hawkguy and Scott Pilgrim, but for real…Hobo Darkseid.
