Revealed last night on Matthew Southworth’s tumblr account, we now have something new to tease us for the return of “Stumptown!”

The above ink on bristol image serves as the cover to the first issue, with the new arc titled “The Case of the Baby in the Velvet Case”, which Southworth describes as a “humdinger.” Written by Greg Rucka, the book is currently slated for August of this year from Oni Press.

“Stumptown” was one of number three on our 2010 Most Overlooked titles and was an absolute show of force from both Rucka and Southworth. A Portland-based mystery wrapped in a four-issue story with strong characters, clever writing and fantastic art, we’ve been dying to see the return of “Stumptown” and Dex Parios. Heck, this is a book that won a special place in our collected hearts after jut four issues. If that fact alone doesn’t sell you on the title, we’re not quite sure what will.

I can confidently say for everyone at Multiversity that we can’t wait to see what comes next, and we strongly urge you to check out the collected edition of the story if you haven’t already. You won’t regret it.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
