One of the great pleasures in life is beach reading; sitting on a towel, under the blazing sun, reading something fun. We decided to emulate our Summer TV Binge this year, by introducing the inaugural Summer Comics Binge. Starting Saturday, our staff will be re-reading, or reading for the first time, some comics that we felt would be enjoyable this summer. Here’s the full lineup of start dates, books, and reviewers.
June 8: “Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor,” reviewed by Kate Kosturski
June 9: “Bulletproof Coffin,” reviewed by Tom Shapira
June 10: “X-Factor,” reviewed by Jake Hill
June 11: “One Piece,” reviewed by Zach Wilkerson
June 12: “Shazam,” reviewed by Brian Salvatore
June 13: “Monster,” reviewed by Elias Rosner
June 14: “Moon Knight,” reviewed by Luke Cornelius
June 18 “Fushigi Yûgi Genbu Kaiden,” reviewed by Justin McGuire
July 3: “Fantastic Four”/”FF,” reviewed by Kevin Gregory
July 4: “Wizard: The Guide to Comics,” reviewed by Drew Bradley
July 15: “Countdown to Final Crisis,” reviewed by Walter Richardson
July 28: “New Warriors,” reviewed by Rowan Grover
August 19: “Thor,” reviewed by Matt Garza
August 29: “Thor,” reviewed by Matt Garcia
August 31: “X-Force,” reviewed by Michael Mazzacane
September 3: “Sweet Tooth,” reviewed by Niklynnn Dunn
Now, you may be asking: Which X-Force run? Which issues of “Wizard?” Why is Walt reading “Countdown?” Well, you’ve just got to show up and read in order to find out.
We’ll see ya Saturday, and every day for the rest of the summer.
