Yup. That was the big secret last character. Iceman. Underwhelming, I know. You’d think that instead of Iceman for last, they’d have saved someone truly unique. Adding the X-Men into the mix isn’t really anything special. That and we’ve had Iceman as a character before. The previous secrets were all characters we hadn’t had in M:UA, but Iceman was an option. So much for my bet on Hercules!

So how do you feel about the characters in the sequel? The previous game had 18 characters right off the bat and 7 characters hidden/unlockable. On top of that, the PSP and GBA had exclusives and the 360 had downloadable characters (as well as exclusives). Right now we have 24 characters revealed as playable, although 4 characters locked to a specific side of the game. We do not know if there will be more later as unlockable characters, so it’s safe to say that what we have right now is the final list until the downloadable add-ons come. Of course there are rumors around the internet about one more hidden character due to a screenshot floating around the webs, but it’s all speculation (the biggest rumor I hear, from Mocle, is that it’s Nova).
I’ll honestly admit I’m a bit disappointed in the roster and would have liked more new characters versus characters from the old game, but that’s just me. Characters like the Sentry, Hercules, and Multiple Man would have been very fun to utilize. Unfortunately, we don’t get that opportunity. Hopefully there will be additional characters for download soon, however. One can always hope as the developers said they wanted to do that more in this one than the first. I am still excited to see all the alternate costumes, and being a VIP allows me to see some of them. Although we only see one for now, I’m still pulling that we get the four we’re used to, and when all is said and done, I’ll be sure to share them with everyone. I’m just that nice of a guy!
Either way, there you have it, folks. Iceman. Now when the Hell are they going to wrap up that big loose end with Galactus?
