Excuse me for a minute while I flip the eff out.
In an interview with MTV Splash Page, Kevin Feige spilled the beans that the second movie already planned for Marvel’s post-Avengers 2 world will be Doctor Strange (alongside Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man). As he told MTV about the good Doctor, “He’s a great, original character, and he checks the box off this criteria that I have: he’s totally different from anything else we have, just like ‘Guardians of the Galaxy.’ He’s totally different from anything we’ve done before, as is ‘Ant-Man,’ which keeps us excited.”
This would certainly go in line with certain rumors that Doctor Strange may be appearing in Thor 2, which would do well to introduce the character to the greater Marvel Cinematic U. And, hey, it just so happens that they have the perfect story to adapt all set up for them. (The only thing it’ll be missing is the art by Emma Rios and Jordie Bellaire!)
Now maybe we can finally get a Doctor Strange ongoing. Or at the very least, some reprints of things like “Triumph and Torment.”
