As noted on Bleeding Cool, it looks like DC isn’t the only company axing some books in April. Hot off the heels of the X-Termination crossover, both “Age of Apocalypse” and “X-Treme X-Men” will be cancelled in April. Here are the final solicits:

AGE OF APOCALYPSE #14
(W) David Lapham (A) Roberto De La Torre (CA) Greg Land
PART 3 of X-TERMINATION! — FINAL ISSUE!
– The multi-verse is being consumed!
– No one is safe as our heroes split up to fight a war in two universes.

X-TREME X-MEN #13
(W) Greg Pak (A) Andre Arujo (CA) Kalman Androsofsky
Part 4 OF X-TERMINATION — FINAL ISSUE!
– With the rift into the AOA widening, the only chance might be to step into the void-but at what cost?
– Kid Nightcrawler makes the ultimate sacrifice

I suppose it makes sense, to pull three of the lower tier X-Books into a crossover and leave two of them behind in its wake. It is a shame, though, for fans of the book to see them go. “X-Treme” was particularly quite fun, reminiscent of the cancelled “Exiles” comic and equally full of whimsy.

On the other hand — Dazzler in Wood’s “X-Men” perhaps? She is free for other engagements, now. Perhaps its time for a tour.

We’ll bring you more in depth solicit coverage next week.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
