Marvel recently announced a 5-issue mini called 5 Ronin to debut in March written by Peter Milligan with a variety of different artists. It was also announced that David Aja (Immortal Iron Fist) would be handling covers, and Marvel released the first look at those covers today – and they’re amazing (if you couldn’t tell from the title of this article). Done in the same style as the Iron Fist and Immortal Weapons covers, the covers are simply beautiful and – if nothing else – will probably make you tear up that he isn’t doing interiors too (not that the interior selection is bad, but come on… it’s David Aja!).

As taken from the press release, “From the very beginning, I wanted to keep each cover down to two colors that identify with each of the five characters” explains artist, David Aja. “We set out to come up with a design that would grab your eyes from the shelves compared to the rest of the covers while keeping uniformity throughout the series and I think we accomplished that here.”

Take a look behind the cut for the high res images, and prepare for awesome.

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
