Sure, everyone is really excited about the announcement of a Winter Soldier series from Ed Brubaker and Butch Guice – why wouldn’t you be, that’s a great team and it’s Bucky doing covert things which we love him to do.
But that doesn’t mean we should forget about good ol’ Steve, and from the looks of it Captain America #6 is going to be a doozy. Joining Brubaker will be legendary artist Alan Davis, and it looks like both of them are going to be bringing their A game in an issue that stars Baron Zemo, a dreamlike version of Batroc the Leaper (yes!), Hydra, and a whole lot more.
Basically, everything you want from a Captain America comic and perhaps a little bit more.
Check out the first four unlettered pages of that issue and Marvel’s press release after the jump.
Cut off one of its heads, and two more take its place! An all-new Hydra has risen and they have their sights set on the Sentinel of Liberty in your first look at Captain America #6! Critically acclaimed writer Ed Brubaker is joined by legendary artist Alan Davis for an important new chapter in the life of Steve Rogers. Throughout Fear Itself, Rogers has been harboring a dark secret and its one that may leave the leader of Earth’s Mightiest….powerless. Can Cap and his closest allies take on the revitalized Hydra and stop them before it’s too late? Find out in Captain America #6!
