In a webchat hosted by Alan Moore as a prize for 58 people who paid $99 for a Kickstarter to raise money for a Harvey Pekar tribute statue, Moore dropped a few notes for fans of his popular series, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

The first bit of news is that The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vol. 3: Century #3: 2009, slated for release in June 2012, has been drawn, lettered, colored, and is off to the printers. After the awesome of 1969, if that information doesn’t get you excited, I don’t know what will.

The second bit of news is that following the conclusion of Century, the next League project is entitled Nemo: Heart of Ice, a 48-page story finding Nemo in the 20’s (a decade after Nemo’s death in Century #1: 1910). Of the book, Moore says, “It takes place in Antarctica and [the work of HP Lovecraft] is a major component. You figure it out.”

If you’d like to watch the full two and a half hour chat between Moore and fans, feel free to check it out here. In it, he discusses many things, from his “relationship” with Grant Morrison, to his opinions on LoEG vs Watchmen and the hotly debated issue of characters being used by people other than their original creators, and professional wrestling.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
