The two remaining covers to Grant Morrison’s upcoming saga Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne were revealed today. DC has slowly been rolling them out over the past month and a half, and most of them demonstrate the exceptional talents of one Andy Kubert. Kubert has long been one of my favorite artists, and this work shows why he is so damn exceptional.

Except the first one. That’s just absurd.

What do these covers tell us? Well, it looks like we’ll get a look at Bruce Wayne the Caveman (the only ridiculous looking one of the lot), Bruce Wayne the Pirate, Bruce Wayne at the Salem Witch Trials, Bruce Wayne the Cowboy, Bruce Wayne the noir gumshoe…and Bruce Wayne: Batman (see the cover at the top).

That last one rings a bit more true.

The order of the covers does not follow chronologically necessarily, so it looks like he’ll be jumping through time, not just being dragged forward. This will probably be more interesting, so good on Morrison for that. I do have to point out though – Bruce Wayne: Noir Gumshoe looks to be in about the time period his parents died. What if he’s given the opportunity to change things?

This series gets curiouser and curiouser.

Look for all of the covers after the jump.
