Punk cabaret queen Amanda Palmer and Seattle-based prankster Jason
Webley proudly present the Edinburgh debut of Evelyn Evelyn, the
world’s only conjoined-twin singer-songwriter duo.
Enthusiasts of genuine tragedy and celebrity intrigue, gird your mental loins for an authentic tale of unbelievable hardship and epic catastrophe! This wholly true and accurate account details the extraordinary lives of Evelyn and Evelyn, a darling but unfortunate pair of conjoined twins who brave extreme circumstances of calamity and adversity, such as: the bizarre and bloody night of their birth and subsequent orphaning; their early years on a chicken farm; shocking encounters with depraved gentlemen; life in the circus; the terrible fates of their dearest friends; and concluding with the sisters’ rise to international fame via the internet, as told with astounding eloquence by musicians Amanda Palmer and Jason Webley, and documented in gorgeous detail by the artist Cynthia von Buhler.
For this special run at The Assembly George Square, the renowned
Evelyn twins will demonstrate their astonishing song-writing skills
while relating the tragic story of their lives. The sisters will
perform selections from their acclaimed eponymous 2010 album while
accompanying themselves on guitar, piano, accordion, drums, ukulele
and kazoo. The performances will also showcase the sisters’ talents
as puppeteers, and will amaze audiences as the twins rely on their
powers of divination to answer questions from the Chalice of
Knowledge.

EVELYN and EVELYN NEVILLE were born September 11, 1985 on a small farm
on the Kansas-Colorado border, and have traveled the greater part of
North America performing with “Dillard & Fullerton’s Illusive
Traveling Show”. Their unique musical style is inspired by their many
eclectic influences – from 80’s music to showtunes, Joy Division to
the Andrews Sisters. The sisters currently reside in Walla Walla,
Washington. They are fluent in chicken and their favorite colors are
purple and yellow.

AMANDA PALMER is a songwriter, singer, blogger, piano-slayer, ukulele
hack and “performance artist” of unclassifiable proportions and has
toured the world for over a decade fronting the seminal punk cabaret
band The Dresden Dolls.


JASON WEBLEY is an accordion troubadour whose relentless touring
schedule has built him a loyal following in most corners of the
planet. Webley runs his own Eleven Records label and organizes the
annual Monsters of Accordion tour.
