Because Scott Snyder loves you. And the wait was killing you.

While “American Vampire” is on hiatus, we’ve been only given a single brief return with June’s one-shot. Now “American Vampire” is going to welcome you back into its world, and this time it’s going to be a bit bigger.

Hitting stores in August and revealed over at Hero Complex, “American Vampire Anthology” #1 will be hitting stands running at $7.99 for an 80-page blockbuster of talent. The book will feature all of Snyder’s friends and colleagues coming in to tell brief and probably awesome “American Vampire” stories, such as Greg Rucka, Jeff Lemire, Gail Simone, Ray Fawkes, Becky Cloonan, Francesco Francavilla , Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba.

If that doesn’t get you excited, you might want to check your pulse.

The series should be back later this year, but this is an excellent thing to tide us over while we wait for new blood. (Also, vampire puns!)

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
