And With a New Spider-Man Comes A New J. Jonah Jameson – Glenn Beck!

Sometimes it is impossible to just sit back and watch a culture you have no part of do it’s own thing without making a comment. We’ve all been there – who hasn’t said something about how hilarious the Gathering of the Juggalos is at some time or another? I guess that’s why Glenn Beck – someone who doesn’t read comics or follow news about comics and declares them, in his own words, as “stupid” – decided that he needs to talk a bit about Miles Morales on his radio show (which you can listen to above) and find a way to blame Obama for it. Which, you know, makes perfect sense in a world full of crazy people.

So to back up his claim, Glenn Beck reminds us about a million times about how much he doesn’t care and then plays a Michelle Obama quote (that doesn’t even fit in the context). He notes that Spider-Man is now gay as well, which is a new bit of information that we and series writer Brian Michael Bendis didn’t know, and even notes that Spider-Man now looks like Barack Obama (although I thought it was supposed to be Donald Glover). With all this blatant misinformation flying around, it appears that Beck was circling around the one word he really wanted to say – that the new Spider-Man is a menace to society.

It appears that Glenn Beck clearly just wants to be the new J. Jonah Jameson for the new Spider-Man, which seems as good a thought as any because if the new Spider-Man can be half-black half-latino, why can’t the new JJJ just be all-idiot?

Although, the real twist comes when Joe Quesada, former EiC, reveals that Michelle Obama did in fact call him and demand that Spider-Man be biracial.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
