A while ago, you may remember that we teased you about a book called “Curse” from Tim Daniel and Mike Moreci. We admittedly knew what it was, but we couldn’t tell you anything. It’s how it goes, you know?
Well, now we can tell you all about it! Written by Tim Daniel (“Enormous”) and Michael Moreci (“Hoax Hunters) and illustrated by Riley Rossmo (“Drumhellar”) and Colin Lorimer (“UXB”), “Curse” is an upcoming 4-issue mini-series from BOOM! Studios about werewolves. Debuting in January 2014, it’s sort of like if Breaking Bad’s plot was found in an episode of Supernatural. Here’s the description:
Laney Griffith is a man who will do anything to save his son from leukemia, but the cost of treatment has broken him financially. When he pursues an elusive murderer in the wilderness of his small, rural community, in the hopes of securing a substantial bounty, Laney is confronted with something he never could have expected: a werewolf. The captive lycan, in human form, turns Laney’s life upside-down, forcing him to confront his haunted past and race against the clock—because the wolf will return, and Laney’s son’s condition continues to worsen. CURSE is a story of a family’s survival at all costs.
We’re pretty excited about it, really. I’ve personally seen some of the interiors and I think the book looks gorgeous. I’ve never been a big werewolf mythos guy, but this is a werewolf book I’m very interested in.
Tim Daniel also does a lot of work for Multiversity (our recent Image flyer, our site design), so if you love Multiversity I imagine you’ll love this book. Plus: Moreci, Rossmo and Lorimer. How can it go wrong?
Take a look below for some excellent and exclusive to Multiversity images from the series, including Rossmo and Lorimer’s first two covers, the black and white inks for Lorimer’s cover and two WIP pieces from Rossmo including the early design of what the wolf will look like and an unused cover design.
