In the tradition of our epic parties at New York Comic Con, we are proud to announce “The Big Emerald City Comicon Party!”
On Friday, March 28th at 8pm, we are teaming up with our pals at Dark Horse Comics to put on the event of Emerald City Comicon. As is the case with our NYCC parties, this party is to benefit the Hero Initiative, a charity that raises money to help support creators in need and gives to those who have helped foster, develop and pioneer the medium we all love so much.
The party is hosted by the Rock Bottom Brewery (1333 5th Avenue), a 4 minute walk from the Washington State Convention Center, where ECCC is being held. The Brewery offers craft beer, an extensive menu, and a great place to hang out and chat. It is a 21+ event, and admission costs $10, all of which goes to the Hero Initiative. In addition to our regular raffle for the Hero Initiative, the party will also a host a raffle to benefit Stan and Sharon Sakai, who have recently incurred some severely costly medical expenses. The comics community has benefited greatly from Sakai’s work over the years, and we are honored to host Stan at the event with this opportunity to give back.
But there’s more! In addition to Stan, we will be joined at the party by a bunch of incredible Dark Horse creators, including Greg Rucka (“Veil”), Matt Kindt (“Mind MGMT”), Gail Simone (“Tomb Raider”), Joshua Williamson (“Captain Midnight”), Rebekah Issacs (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), Joshua Hale Fialkov (“Sky Man”), Colleen Coover (“Bandette”), Fred Van Lente (“Conan: Avenger”), Tim Seeley (“The Occultist”), Frank Barbiere (“The White Suits”), Christopher Sebela (“Ghost”), Mike Norton (“The Occultist”), Paul Tobin (“Colder”), Michael Avon Oeming (“The Victories”), Richard and Wendy Pini (“Elfquest”), Randy Stradley (“Star Wars: Dark Times”), and more!
In addition to hanging out with the Dark Horse creators, the party has even more to offer. We are happy to announce that Seattle Facebooth, one of the area’s finest photo booths, will be there for all of your memory preserving needs! Add to that the raffles, the excellent beer, and the opportunity to say that you were at the biggest and best party of the convention, and it is pretty clear where you need to be on the 28th.
So if you’d like to have a drink, share a chat and donate money to a great cause, please join us on Friday, March 28th for THE BIG PARTY. Be sure to RSVP on Facebook and we look forward to seeing you there!
