DCU’s The Source will likely be working into overdrive with San Diego Comic Con kicking up, and they (and their sister blogs) are dropping some fun bits of news today. First up, we have the first “official” image of JH Williams III’s upcoming Batwoman title (as some of you may remember, we posted another image he created a few weeks back). While it is but a sole image, it is a great reminder for why we all are excited about this book to begin with.
JH Williams III is one of the most gifted artists in the industry in terms of design work. In fact, he’s likely one of the most talented and innovative of all time, and this image shows a lot of what we’ve come to expect from his pages. Never leaning on standard layouts or predictive methodry, his pages come to life with images that are powerful both on the surface and in the depths of interpretation. I really, really cannot wait for this book, although I hope eventually Greg Rucka decided to join back up to finish what the two of them started.
