We’d mentioned this rumor before, but now some evidence has come to light.

With the latest Marvel NOW! teaser (posted at Buzzfeed), we’re given a brief tease of a Loeb and McGuinness Nova short to debut in the book. This would be the second Nova short the two have done together, having previously done one in Marvel’s first “Point One” book. Nova was used a lightning rod for the Phoenix on its way to Earth, as illustrated in “AvX: Infinite,” but has since been largely absent from the entirety of the story. One would expect this would clear some of that up.

All signs are pointing to Loeb and McGuinness reuniting beyond this to do a Nova ongoing book, alongside a rumored “Guardians” relaunch to bring back the cosmic Marvel U just in time for the feature film. Will it happen? Maybe in January. Let’s find out.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
