It looks like the Valiant Universe is going to get even more united! (Get it? Because “Unity?” Come on.)
In March, “Archer and Armstrong” and “Bloodshoot and HARD Corps” will crossover for ‘Mission: Improbable,’ an arc in which Fred Van Lente and Pere Perez will cross forces with Christos Gage and Joshua Dysart as well as new artist Tom Raney for a four-part crossover storyline. As it so happens, both Archer and Armstrong will find themselves as targets for death from Project Rising Spirit, who are attempting to take down the newly appointed leader of a new terrorist sect — apparently led by Archer. Uh oh. It sounds like we have a recipe for one of those classic mix-ups here!
What makes it intriguing overall, though, is that the tones of the two books couldn’t be more different overall. One is generally lighthearted, the other a serious thriller; how the two will intertwine should be interesting to see, to say the least.
It is nice to see how connected Valiant’s Universe is becoming, though. After starting out with everything operating on their own individual runs, things like “Unity” and this crossover, pairing two books that I’d not initially see as having too much in common, is a nice way to expand the Valiant Universe as an upcoming formidable force in shared superheroics.
