Ares Returns (Surprise?) For Chaos War

It looks like we’re getting quite a theme with Chaos War right now: dead heroes (and maybe villains) coming back to life. Sound oddly familiar? Anyway, it looks like even being ripped in half can’t keep the God of War out of Chaos War!

So Ares is coming back for a limited series in October. What’s going to happen? Well, Mikaboshi is going to bring Ares out on his side. Against his own free well, Ares will be part of the villainous ensemble of Chaos War, and we get five issues fleshing out the whys and what nots. But who is doing the book? Here’s my favorite part: Mike Oeming! Why is this cool? Well, for those of you who don’t know, Mike Oeming actually wrote the mini-series that made Ares a big part of the Marvel U as well as introduced (modern) Phobos and Mikaboshi in the first place! Seriously, guys. Oeming won’t be arting (despite the tease you see here), and unfortunately neither will Scott Kolins. Instead, newcomer Stephen Segovia will be taking over art details for the mini.

Look for more on the book in October. For the full Marvel press release, click right here.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
