Art Baltazar and Franco Launch Aw Yeah Comics

Let’s make something clear: whenever we can write an article about Art Baltazar and Franco, it’s something that takes absolutely no effort to get excited about. The duo basically in charge of DC’s All Ages line have made so many affable hits at this point that there is no reason not to always give them the benefit of the doubt in what they do. So when we say that they’re putting out a new line of comics, you know it’s going to be good without having to read any further.

Announced yesterday (and seen by Robot 6 before us), Baltazar and Franco are going to start publishing creator-owned all ages comics under the “Aw Yeah Comics” banner. Starting in September, “Aw Yeah Comics” #1 will see release starring Action Cat (!!!) and Adventure Bug, as well as a wide cast of all varieties, featuring characters like Awesome Bear, Marquaid (say it slower if you don’t get it at first) and foils such as Ghost Bug and Evil Cat. It’s absolutely adorable and equally hilarious, straddling that all ages line quite well, and who in their right mind can say they don’t want to read a comic starring Action Cat?

The series will be made available in print and at the Aw Yeah Comics store, as well as being available for mail order. One could assume that there will be digital distribution via Comixology as well due to the available link on their site, but no confirmation on this yet.

Either way, get excited! AW YEAH COMICS!

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
