Continuing a hot week for the publisher, Aspen Comics announced the third and final wave of their celebratory 15th anniversary releases. The wave is led by the return of “Soulfire,” one of two Aspen properties already in development as a film at the recently-formed Mythos Studios. “Soulfire” and four other titles will release throughout the months of July through November, with the new and returning series including:
– The aforementioned “Soulfire,” which starts in July and features J.T. Krul (“Jirni,” “Green Arrow”) on writing duties and the art team of Chahine Ladjouze and Wes Hartman. The new “Soulfire” series picks up where the previous volumes left off, as Malikai and friends are forced to contend with a new threat to the fragile balance between magic and technology.
– “Awaken Skies,” a new series written by Frank Mastromauro and illustrated by Marco Lorenzana and Justice, which promises to unveil “a new world of flight” that will take the Aspen Universe by storm. “Awaken Skies” will release a #0 issue in June and then continue in August.
– The second volume of supernatural action-adventure series “Dellec,” following up on the title character’s appearance in Aspen’s “No World” crossover series. “Dellec”‘s creative team is yet to be announced; the title will debut in September.
– “Artifact One,” a new action-adventure series from the writing team of J.T. Krul and Vince Hernandez, illustrated by Romina Morinelli. “Artifact One” begins in October.
– And finally, in November, the second volume of “No World” will provide writers Scott Lobdell (“Red Hood and the Outlaws”) and Blake Northcott (“Michael Turner’s Fathom”), as well as artist Giuseppe Cafaro (“Fathom: Kiani”), with the opportunity to once again team a variety of popular Aspen characters together in one series. Expect a completely different cast of characters from the first “No World” series, with more details on exactly who will be showing up (and how) before the series’s release.
