Aspen Press Release

At this year’s San Diego Comic Con, Aspen Comics will be releasing a brand new sketchbook celebrating the career and body of work of their founder and legendary artist Michael Turner with “Aspen: The Heroic Years.” The superstar creator’s artwork, from his world-famous covers to his highly detailed interior pages covering the years 2005-2007 will be on display in this 48-page, oversized sketchbook.

A follow-up to last year’s release of the Michael Turner sketchbook, this 2011 edition features artwork from Turner’s own titles Fathom and Soulfire, along with such Aspen favorites as Shrugged and Aspen Seasons. Plus, a very special section of Turner’s acclaimed DC work along with tons of never before seen layouts and sketches. “Aspen: The Heroic Years” will be available exclusively at the Aspen Comics Booth #2321, and the publisher strongly suggests fans looking to pick up a copy arrive early, as last year’s quantities sold out quickly.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
