The miniseries will star the female version of the game’s Viking protagonist, Eivor, as she “observes a village raided by a neighboring kingdom. Bloodshed and mayhem erupt as she seizes the attack in her own favor — but will her victory be a blessing to her clan or a terrible curse? Elsewhere, another Viking searches for a different kind of prize, one of crucible steel.”
This will be the first Assassin’s Creed title published by Dark Horse. British company Titan Publishing previously held the license for English-language Assassin’s Creed comics, releasing various series from 2015 to 2018, and before that, it was held by WildStorm. (Titan also translated various French and Japanese installments of the series into English.)
“Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Song of Glory” #1 will be released online and in comics shops on October 21, 2020. The game itself (which, depending on your choice, will star male or female Eivor), will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Stadia on November 17, and be available at launch later this year for the PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. Dark Horse will publish an art book of the game on December 31.
