According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dark Horse Comics will continue their line of standalone Avatar: The Last Airbender graphic novels in June, 2021, with “Avatar: The Last Airbender — Suki Alone.” The book will follow the Kyoshi Warrior during season three, when she was captured by the Fire Nation, and imprisoned in the dormant volcano known as Boiling Rock. “There, she has to create a new community for herself, if she can manage to convince the other prisoners to trust her.”
Like this year’s “Katara and the Pirate’s Silver,” the book will be written by Faith Erin Hicks, with input and consultation from Tim Hedrick, who was a staff writer on the series (including the original “Boiling Rock” two-parter). Artist Peter Wartman, and colorist Adele Matera will also return, with lettering provided by ComiCraft. On Twitter, Wartman commented he was “excited about this one.”
“Avatar: The Last Airbender — Suki Alone” will be released on June 22, 2021, with a retail price of $12.99, and it will be 80 pages long. It is available to pre-order now through Penguin Random House. In the meantime, Dark Horse will release the second new graphic novel in the series, “Avatar: The Last Airbender – Toph Beifong’s Metalbending Academy” — by the same creative team — on February 16, 2021.
