The rumors are true: Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are officially cast in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The stars of “Martha Marcy May Marlene” and “Kick-Ass” respectively and the upcoming “Godzilla” reboot are confirmed as the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver respectively after months of rumors, and to this viewer, I can confirm that both are great castings.
In particular, Olsen is a pitch perfect fit as Wanda Maximoff, as she brings a lot of the qualities to the table that we know and love the Scarlet Witch for (perhaps besides the occasional mental instability and fictional children). Given that Ultron plays a part and that he created the Vision, here’s hoping this may lead to a little bit of somethin’ somethin’ in that direction in the film.
And I don’t mean in a creepy Scarlet Witch/Vision sort of way.
This is a shocker, but we’re looking forward to this movie. More on it as we get it.
