What? Another post about the new “Batgirl” team? What is this, “Batgirl Comics” instead of Multiversity Comics these days? No, not quite, but I have to admit, I’ve been overjoyed by the enthusiasm this new direction has received, and it’s hard not to be caught up in it.
Now, co-writer/layout artist Cameron Stewart has shared the very first comics page from this new team on the Batgirl of Burnside Tumblr, and it finds Batgirl responding to the excitement about her book and suggesting to readers to order the book from their local retailer. It’s a fun little comic, and it shows what an exceptional cartoonist Stewart really is, as his Babs is a wonderfully expressive version of the character. Take a look, and heed Batgirl’s advice. “Batgirl” #35 kicks off the new direction in October, and it’s written by Stewart and Brenden Fletcher with art from Babs Tarr and colorist Jordie Bellaire. Get excited, folks.
