So here’s two bits of news for you about our (at least my) favorite DC book, “Batman Incorporated,” as revealed at IGN.

In July, the series will end with issue #13. Originally slated for a 12-issue story, the book will now get an extra issue running 32 pages with the solicit “Batman saves the world and loses everything.” Ambiguous, but exciting.

Not only that, but there will be a 1:25 variant illustrated by Morrison himself. Most of you are probably aware that Morrison began his career not just as a writer but also as an artist, and while he hasn’t illustrated any of books in years, it sure is exciting to hear that Morrison himself will be drawing the character he has worked on tirelessly in what is arguably the greatest Batman story ever told. Arguably.

Just cross your fingers that your local retailer doesn’t jack the price up on that, because you can guarantee it’s going to be a hot item.

It began with “Batman” #655 in 2006. It all comes to an end in July 2013. In the meantime, enjoy the attached Burnham image of INFINITE BATMANS, and begin your re-read of the entire series right about … now.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
